David's Tutorial on how to make the perfect shish kebab
Hi, I’m David, but you can call me “D-Man”, or “Dangerous D”.
To make your wonderful Shish Kebab, you will need: pita bread; lamb cubes; cucumber; tomato; white onion; chili sauce; shredded red cabbage; coleslaw (optional).
For the lamb seasoning, you will need two garlic cloves, finely chopped, 3/4 of a teaspoon of ground cumin, and a pinch of salt.
To prepare the lamb, mix together the cumin, garlic and salt in a bowl. Add the lamb and stir until coated. Leave it to marinate for at least 1 hour. If you leave it for longer, it will taste nicer.
In the meantime, you could start to chop up your vegetables. If you don’t like vegetables, you can leave them out… BUT! Remember it’s a good chance to get your 5 plus a day!
Next, heat up the grill, or a pan with some oil. Grill the lamb for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it’s golden and brown. Be VERY careful while using the hot pan with hot oil, and if you’re unsure, please ask an adult for help! Safety first!
When the meat is nearly done, put the pita bread under the top grill to warm it slightly.
Now put the vegetables inside the bread. Next add the meat, and chili sauce. Finally add the coleslaw, and then… you can gobble and go!!!
